Understanding Statistical DNA

Learn what the four Statistical DNA pillars measure, how CSStatLab calculates them, and how to read your profile.

Statistical DNA is the four-bar summary at the top of every CSStatLab profile. Instead of collapsing a player into a single number, it describes them across four independent pillars:

  • Aim
  • Aggression
  • Utility
  • Teamwork

Each pillar is scored from 0 to 100. Two of them come straight from Leetify's own ratings, and two are calculated by CSStatLab from the underlying match statistics. The goal isn't one perfect score-it's a shape that tells you what kind of player you're looking at.

Aim

The Aim pillar is Leetify's Aim Rating, used directly.

It's a proprietary metric that blends several mechanical stats-crosshair placement, time to damage, counter-strafing, spray accuracy and headshot accuracy-into a single value benchmarked against the wider player base. A score near 50 is roughly average; higher is better.

Utility

The Utility pillar is Leetify's Utility Rating, also used directly.

It reflects how much value a player gets out of their grenades overall. Like Aim Rating, the exact formula is proprietary and benchmarked against other players, so treat it as an indicator rather than an exact measurement.


Aggression

Aggression is calculated by CSStatLab, and it measures one specific thing: how often you win your opening duels.

We start from your opening-duel success rate on both sides, then weight the T side more heavily than the CT side, because entry dueling on offense is a more deliberate, aggressive choice:

  • T-side opening duels count for 65%
  • CT-side opening duels count for 35%

That combined success rate is then mapped onto the 0-100 scale. Winning around 30% of your opening duels lands near the bottom; around 60% or higher lands near the top. A player who takes-and wins-a lot of first fights will score high here, while a passive, lurk-heavy player will score low even if they're an excellent shot.

Aggression is a style indicator, not a quality score. A low value isn't bad; it just means you aren't the one taking first contact.


Teamwork

Teamwork is the most composite pillar. It's built by CSStatLab from four separate ingredients that all describe how much you contribute to the team rather than to your own scoreboard:

  • Trading (35%) - how well you trade kills, how reliably your own deaths get traded back, and how many trade opportunities you create each round.
  • Avoiding team damage (25%) - a penalty for flashing and HE-damaging your own teammates. Fewer team flashes and less friendly-fire damage means a higher score.
  • Team-effective flashing (25%) - how well your flashes actually blind enemies: enemies blinded per flash, flashes that lead to a kill, and how long your enemy flashes last.
  • Utility economy (15%) - how little unused utility you die holding. Dying with a full inventory of grenades wastes value; using your nades before you die does not.

Because Teamwork rewards trading, clean flashes for teammates and not wasting utility, support players and lurkers who "do the little things" often score higher here than flashy fraggers.


How to Read the Bars

The colour of each bar gives you a quick read on the tier:

A well-rounded profile has four fairly even bars. A specialist has a spiky shape-for example an entry fragger with high Aim and Aggression but lower Utility and Teamwork, or an anchor with the opposite. Neither is "better"; they're different jobs.


A Few Caveats

  • Two pillars are proprietary. Aim and Utility come from Leetify's ratings, so we can't show their exact formula-only interpret them.
  • Roles skew the shape. An AWPer, an entry fragger and a support player will naturally produce very different DNA even at the same skill level.
  • Sample size matters. A handful of games can move the bars around. Look at the shape over dozens of matches, not a single session.

Final Thoughts

Statistical DNA is meant to answer "what kind of player is this?" at a glance, not to rank players on a single line. Read the four bars together: the shape tells you far more than any one number, and the pillar that surprises you most is usually where your fastest improvement is hiding.
