Entry Fragging

The role of taking first contact into a site-why it's so valuable, and how to do it without throwing.

The entry fragger is the player who enters a site first and takes the opening duel. It's one of the highest-impact roles in the game: winning the entry cracks the site open for your team, while losing it cheaply hands the round to the defenders.

The Job

An entry's job is not to get a lot of kills-it's to create space and information. Even a trade in your team's favour is a win, because it opens the site for the players behind you.

  • Win the first duel → your team floods in with the advantage.
  • Lose it but get traded → still an even fight on the site.
  • Lose it uncleanly (no trade) → the round is in serious trouble.

Entering Well

  • Enter with utility. A flash over the entry or a smoke cutting off a rotation makes your peek far safer. Never dry-entry a stacked site if utility is available.
  • Commit fully. A half-hearted entry gets you killed in the open. Once you swing, swing hard.
  • Be tradeable. Take the duel where your teammates can follow up instantly-see Trading Kills.

The Right Mindset

Entry fraggers die a lot, and that's fine. You are spending your life for space and information. Judge your entries by whether the round opened up, not by your personal K/D.

Takeaway

Enter with utility, commit, and make your death tradeable. A good entry fragger loses plenty of duels but still wins rounds for the team.
